Brooklyn Brownstone from Scratch

Businesses with the knowledge to do a brownstone from scratch are rare, but that’s what MP Design Consulting did when it purchased a 1900 Federal brick carriage house, took it down and replaced it with a brownstone. Everything was done with an eye to authenticity—for instance, where others would use stucco, MP used sifted sand. Interior details such as the windowsills and headers over windows were all done by hand.

The client sought a full, gut renovation—from electric and plumbing to the interior design. MP handled the entire project, producing a condo that was modern and eclectic. All organic products were used, down to the furniture and bedding. The crowning glories of the project are a gorgeous outdoor space and green roof.
